While no one knows for sure, some historians believe that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582, when France changed from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. In the Julian Calendar, the new year began with the spring equinox around April 1.

People who were slow to get the news continued to celebrate New Year's on April 1 and became the butt of jokes and hoaxes. These people were called “April fools.”

The pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as “poisson d’avril” (April fish), said to symbolize a young, easily caught fish and a gullible person.

INTERVIEW WITH TEACHER RUBÉN SCHOOL NEWSPAPER BRETÓN DE LOS HERREROS

Hola a todos/as. Os envío la entrevista que me hicieron en el periódico escolar de mi colegio, Bretón de los Herreros, dos días antes de suspenderse las clases por el COVID 19. Quiero compartirla con todos/as vosotros/as y enviaros mucho ánimo y todo mi cariño. Gracias a los alumnos/as del Bretón por hacer que cada día tenga más y más ganas de veros a todos/as.

Cuidaros mucho y recordad que juntos lo vamos a superar.

ENTREVISTA AL TEACHER RUBÉN

1.- ¿Qué te inspiró a ser maestro? Mis profesores de infantil y primaria: Magdalena, Mari Ángeles y Eduardo tuvieron mucho que ver. Siempre he pensado que lo que se enseña con pasión, deja una bonita huella, que perdurará hasta la eternidad.

2.- ¿Qué serías si no fueras maestro?

Enfermero.

3.- ¿Disfrutas de tu profesión?

Todos los días.

4.- ¿Aprendes de tus alumnos/as)

Cada día y de cada uno de vosotros/as.

5.-¿Es difícil ser maestro? ¿Te gusta tu profesión?

No, si es tu verdadera vocación.

6.- Crees que tu blog nos ayuda a aprender mejor inglés y de forma más divertida?

Creo que sí. Considero que tres horas semanales de inglés son muy pocas para el aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera. El blog de inglés, el libro viajero y mi insistencia en que veáis la televisión en inglés, hacen que sigáis aprendiendo inglés fuera del aula.

7.- ¿Cuál es tu asignatura favorita sin contar inglés?

No es una asignatura, es un proyecto llamado el Bretón Solidario. Los valores están por encima de cualquier asignatura.

8.- Del 1 al 10 ¿Cuánto te gusta el Bretón?

9.- ¿Cómo quieres que te recuerden en el colegio?

Con cariño. Como un maestro que hizo todo lo posible y con mucha ilusión, para que cada uno de mis alumnos/as se sintiera bien en mi clase y disfrutara aprendiendo inglés.

10.- ¿Algunas palabras para la Comunidad Educativa del Bretonazo?

Aprovechad todo lo que la vida os ofrece. Cada uno de vosotros/as sois importantes y únicos. Con esfuerzo y pasión podéis alcanzar aquello que os propongáis. "English is fun" (Inglés es divertido).

1.- What inspired you to be a teacher? My nursery and primary teachers: Magdalena, Mari Ángeles and Eduardo had a lot to do with it. I have always thought that what is taught with passion leaves a beautiful mark, which will last until eternity.

2.- What would you be if you were not a teacher? A nurse.

3.- Do you enjoy your profession? Every day.

4.- Do you learn from your students? Every day from each one of you.

 5.-Is it difficult to be a teacher? You like your profession? If it is your true vocation, it is not difficult.

6.- Do you think your blog helps us to learn English better and in a more fun way? I think so. I believe that three hours a week of English are too few to learn a foreign language. The English blog, the travel book, and my insistence that you watch television in English, keep you learning English outside the classroom.

7.- What is your favorite subject without counting English? It is not a subject, it is a project called the Breton Solidarity. Values are above any subject.

8.- From 1 to 10, how much do you like the Breton? 10

9.- How do you want to be remembered at school? With love. As a teacher who did everything possible and with great enthusiasm, so that each of my students felt good in my class and enjoyed learning English.

10.- Any words for the Bretonazo Educational Community? Take advantage of all that life offers you. Each of you are important and unique. With effort and passion you can achieve what you set out to do. "English is fun".
