An interview to a writer

Interviewer	How long have you been a writer for the Rosselly good food guide?
Writer	For about five years now, although it seems like a lot less. Time always goes so fast when you're enjoying yourself and you know I've always loved travelling. I dreamt of having a job that involved travelling even when I was a kid.
Interviewer	Has the new edition of the guide been a success?
Writer	Yes, it's been a great success. It has meant that the publishers are willing to finance a culinary expedition to the Far East now. I can't believe it.
Interviewer	You've visited remote villages all over Europe and South America to investigate local culinary traditions. But why do you always go on your own?
Writer	Well, I think it's important to put your limits to the test. Also, I've sometimes lived with local people or tribes to study the local culinary habits in detail and they are usually more willing to accept you and talk to you if you are on your own.
Interviewer	How does your family feel about your being away from home so much?
Writer	My parents are used to me not being around a lot of the time. They worry about me obviously, but they are always the first to buy any new book that I have written or collaborated on...
Interviewer	So, what are you doing at the moment?
Writer	Well, I'm planning my next expedition. I'm learning Chinese. I already know some Vietnamese. I always try to learn the local languages, you know. And I am learning how to handle a boat to travel around the rivers of China.
Interviewer	That's amazing!
Writer	I know a lot of people think that, but I take my job very seriously and apart from that, I have always been able to learn languages easily. The hard thing is to try and describe in English some of the ingredients that go into a dish which is made in the Amazon Jungle, for example. Listen, I'm afraid I haven't got time for any more questions. I'm sorry, I have an appointment with my publisher to talk about the funding for the next trip. I really must go now.
