Susan invented "Camoculars" - binoculars and a camera together. She was one of the thousands of young people who gave their ideas to Amazing.com, the web company that organised the contest for young inventors.

Susan was at the theatre when she thought of her invention. "I was sitting far away from the stage and I was watching the actors through my binoculars. While I was watching, I thought, "I'd love to be able to take a shot of this!" Then the idea came. Why not have binoculars with a camera inside them?

When she arrived home, she took some plastic binoculars and a disposable camera and assembled it together. Her brother was watching her and told her about the competition. So Susan sent her idea to Amazing.com and three months later, she got some good news. Amazing.com called to inform her that she was a winner. They didn't award her the first prize in the contest, but she won $3000 and a trip to Paris.

People are already asking Susan what she is planning to create next. "I have no idea," says Susan. "If you just sit there and think, you won't invent anything because you get ideas at unexpected moments. The only thing I can do is keep my eyes and ears open!"
